Saxe Veterinary Acupuncture and Rehabilatation Services

Acupuncture has been used for 4000 years to treat all types of ailments. I find it very helpful for pain relief from arthritis, injuries and lameness.  It has also been very beneficial for internal medicine problems such as diarrhea, urinary incontinence, skin conditions, and seizures.  I use traditional Chinese needles for acupuncture as well as electro acupuncture (electrical stimulation of the acupuncture needle while in the acupuncture point) and aquapuncture (use of injectable on the acupuncture point)

Chinese Herbal Formulas are prescribed after a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis has been made.   The formulas are made up of as few as 2 herbs or maybe as many as 15.  These formuals are made by very competent manufacturers and highest quality herbs.

Canine Rehabilatation is a fairly new and very much needed veterinary modality.  For many years Veterinary Medicine has not recongnized the need for rehabing patients after surgery or injuries.  Rehabilitation has shown to improve the success rate of surgeries and the recovery time from injuries.  It is of great importance to the recovery of many of our athletic competitor canines. I use stretching and range of motion, balancing and strengthening to help achieve improvement. I also use low level light laser and neuromuscular electro stimulation for many patients.  

 A referral is needed from your primary veterinarian either in writing or by fax.  I will coordinate and discuss the treatment of your pet with your referring veterinarian. 

It is helpful if you are able to provide xrays, medication and dosage, along with any lab work and physical exam findings from your referring veterinarian.
